Ylve Thon is creating a 4-meter high fresco inside a silo tube at Silosalen, engaging with traditional fresco techniques—painting on wet plaster. Over 2-3 weeks, she will develop the artwork live, allowing the audience to witness the art-making process. She collaborates with a bricklayer who prepares a brick wall that serves as her canvas. Thon's work emphasizes a color palette she has devised, blending it with the physical act of painting daily.
Ylve Thon was born in Modum but resides in Kristiansand. She studied at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts (KiB) from 1999 to 2001 and at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design from 2001 to 2005. Thon primarily works in painting with a focus on color, but she has also explored photography, drawing, installation, performance, and illustration.
